*Under the supervision of the principal, the teacher will provide guidance and instructional experiences that are academically and developmentally appropriate for each student assigned to that classroom as well as other programs as assigned.
*Coordinates teaching program with site-based goals and district wide objectives;
*Assures goals and objectives for students with Individual Educational Plans (IEP’s) are implemented and followed according to the student’s IEP;
*Instructs regular education students as well as special education students in inclusion settings incorporating IEP’s as applicable to inclusion students as assigned;
*Arranges physical environment of the classroom for optimum learning and safety of students;
*Provides accurate delivery of curriculum to students within the scope of teaching assignment;
*Uses and applies appropriate conflict resolution skills with students; maintains positive attitude and ensures classroom environment is conducive to student learning;
*Develops goals and objectives for self, grade level/content group and student academic achievement;
*Maintains documentation to assure accountability;
*Provides appropriate instructional classroom activities for students; maintains order in the assigned classroom;
*Maintains records of student performance and attendance;
*Confer frequently, according to district policy, with parents and staff members regarding the progress and educational program of each student;
*Devise and use innovate teaching methods and materials in order to work effectively with all students;
*Observe rules of confidentiality as prescribed by district policy;
*Completes required reports and report cards within prescribed time frames, attends staff meetings and in-service training activities and school activities in compliance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement;
*Demonstrates the competencies as required by Regulation Title 6, Chapter 69, Part 4.12 New Mexico Teacher Competencies and Indicators for Licensure Levels 1, 2, 3;
*Complies with state-approved New Mexico Administrative Code of Ethical Responsibility of the Education Profession and the Ruidoso Municipal School District (RMSD) Employee Standards of Conduct and upholds and enforces rules, administrative directives and regulations, school board policies, and local, state and federal regulations;
*Employee may be assigned other duties based on the needs of the district during the term of employment;

a. Required to lift or carry classroom supplies, textbooks, furniture, and equipment to a minimum of 35 pounds;
- Required to maintain composure and avoid inappropriate displays of emotion;
- Required to sit, stand, bend, stoop, reach, grab, pull, hear, see, and speak on a daily basis;
- Required to perform repetitive physical tasks such as computer keyboarding, writing, and reading;
- Required to monitor students in a variety of locations including those with noise, activity, inclement weather;
- Sitting, walking, standing are a regular requirement;
- Flexibility of bending and twisting at the neck and trunk are a regular requirement;
- Occasional travel in school owned or leased vehicles while supervising and assisting students may be required.
