Title: Math Interventionist; Contractor; Part-time, As Needed, Grades 9-12
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years teaching experience
- Grades 7-12 Math Teaching Certification
- Math Endorsement and/or Evidence of Math Expertise
- Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
- Applicants should be well-versed in Mathematical practices with the ability to implement effective guided Math instruction with student groups
- Applicants should be well-versed in Mathematical strategies and Math instruction
- Knowledgeable and well-read in effective Mathematical practices by field experts
- Personal experience with differentiated instruction through small group of no more than 4 students and/or 1:1 delivery in a one-teacher classroom
- Experience with the MLSS layered model of an intervention providing specifics on Layer 2 and Layer 2 interventions in the general education classroom
- Ability to establish/maintain a professional, collaborative relationship with colleagues
- Demonstrated ability to manage professional time
- Ability to assist with collecting and analyzing data for problem-solving and student interventions
- Knowledge of New Mexico Math Common Core Standards
- Ability to work effectively with a team to problem solve, formulate action plans, and implement plans
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule to help plan and support District and School Math Functions such as Math events, problem-solving teams, SAT support, SAC support, and other duties as assigned
- Maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information
- Follow all rules, policies, and procedures of Ruidoso Municipal School District, along with state and federal regulations
Job Summary:
- Responsible for working with and targeting at-risk students to develop proficient Math skills that will contribute to their academic growth.
- Interventionist should demonstrate competencies in the following areas:
- Data-driven: Ability to analyze data to design targeted intervention for students
- Stamina: Ability to handle the intensity required to work in a diverse elementary school
- Accountability: Ensure that joyful rigorous instruction is delivered to students and relevant and meaningful student learning data is collected
- Management: Ability to manage student behavior
- Self-reflection: Ability to accept and implement feedback received for real-time improvement
- Provide direct, targeted Math intervention instruction to students identified as eligible for Math intervention services in one-on-one or small group settings of no more than 4 students at a time
- Assist in data collection, management, and analysis
- Use formal and informal assessment data to drive intervention instruction and student intervention plans
- Design interventions and write intervention lesson plans detailing methods and material based on student performance data to be shared weekly with building administrator(s) and Director of Learning and Student Services
- Meet regularly with classroom teachers to share and discuss individual student’s progress in intervention and in class, participating in data team meetings as needed
- Assist in the administration of all benchmark assessments
- Assess student progress and provide progress reports as needed and assist building administrator(s) in data collection, management, and analysis
- Maintain data-based documentation of continuous monitoring of student performance and progress during interventions
- Work collaboratively with staff to provide a schedule of Math intervention support
- Participate in special education meetings, parent conferences, or SAT meetings as requested
- Work closely with teachers and administrators to identify needed support for improving student Math performance during Level 1, Core instruction
- Maintain and further professional competence through participation in professional development activities
- Act in a professional and ethical manner and adhere to professional standards at all times
- Begins and completes work within the allotted time
- Demonstrate attention to punctuality, attendance, records, and reports
- Maintain confidentiality of student and other professional information
- Attend monthly Math interventionist meetings with Director of Learning and Student Services

Salary: Contract through Cooperative Educational Services
