Qualifications:
|
- Must hold or be eligible for a valid New Mexico Public Education Department teaching license appropriate for the position.
- Candidates holding a K-8 Elementary License, Middle Level License, Secondary License, School Counselor License, Special Education License, Specialty Area License, or applicable CTE license that meets NMPED assignment requirements are encouraged to apply.
- Successful experience working with middle school students.
- Knowledge of career and technical education (CTE), career pathways, and workforce readiness preferred.
- Ability to integrate technology into instruction.
- Knowledge of Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS).
- Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships with students and families.
- Strong organizational, written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Demonstrate a willingness to work collaboratively as part of a professional learning community

Responsibilities:
|
- Teach Career Exploration to students in grades 6-8.
- Guide students in identifying personal interests, strengths, aptitudes, and career goals.
- Introduce students to career clusters, postsecondary education options, and workforce opportunities.
- Incorporate employability skills including communication, teamwork, leadership, problem-solving, financial literacy, and professionalism into daily instruction.
- Utilize career interest inventories, technology, guest speakers, project-based learning, and career research activities to engage students.
- Support students in developing academic and career plans aligned to future educational and career pathways.
- Collaborate with school counselors, CTE staff, administrators, and community partners to provide meaningful career awareness experiences.
- Maintain accurate student records and monitor student progress.
- Participate in Professional Learning Teams (PLTs), district professional development, and school initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the principal.
